Q: Is this a public or a private range?
A: THOR Elite Firing Range and Gun Club is a privately owned, membership based range.
Q: Can I bring guests to your range? How much does it cost?
A: You can bring guests with a Gold or higher membership. The Individual Membership is for an individual and Family is for your immediate family only. Bear in mind, your guests are your responsibility. Don’t bring more than you can safely watch. After 3 to 4 visits, they will be required to make a membership, or day pass, purchase.
Q: Do you have a waiting area for family shooters?
A: In the front lobby we have a small area they can sit and watch television and we have refreshments for purchase in the lobby.
Q: Do you allow children on your ranges?
A: Yes we do, and while we do not have an age limit, we ask our members to carefully weight these decisions. Always keep in mind that this is a live fire and outdoor range. If you have any questions, please ask our Range Safety Officers.
Q: Can I use the range without purchasing a membership?
A: We do allow non-members to utilize our range at $75 per day, per adult, however, you will not have certain privileges outlined in our memberships.
Q: What should I bring to the range?
A: Hearing and eye protection are mandatory and you must supply your own staple gun. Staple guns are available for purchase in the Pro Shop.
Q: What is the length of your rifle range?
A: Our rifle range is 100m, this goes for both the standard range and the VIP Bay. We can provide access to much greater distances on a case-by-case basis.
Q: Why should I choose any membership over another?
A: This entirely depends on your needs. Our standard hours of operation do not work for everybody so we offer memberships with extended hours of access. Also, depending on the firearms they own, some of our members prefer the solitude we can provide for VIP members.
Q: I have a large caliber rifle, can I use it at your range?
A: Our berms are approved for calibers up to .50 BMG.
Q: What kind of ammunition can I not use at your range?
A: We do not allow ARMOR PIERCING or TRACER ROUNDS on our range.
Q: Are you an indoor range or an outdoor range?
A: We are an outdoor range only, but we do have covered positions for you to keep your stuff out of the sun and rain. Always check the weather and come prepared.
Q: Can I bring a lunch and drinks?
A: You may bring food to the range, however, if you have been shooting we urge you to always wash your hands before you eat. We do have bathrooms inside the pro shop you can use to wash your hands.
Q: What if I want to have food delivered to the range?
A: There are several establishments that will deliver our range. Let our staff know ahead of time so that we will know who to inform when it arrives.
Q: What hours are you open?
A: We are open from 8 AM to 5 PM, this includes our pro shop.
Q: Can I use sporting clays on your range?
A: Yes you can, just bear in mind that as of right now, we do not have a skeet or trap range. You may use hand throwers, which you may purchase alongside the clays in our pro shop.
Q: Can I rapid fire on your range?
A: Yes and No. We do not allow rapid fire on the Handgun/Pistol Range. You may rapid fire on all other bays as long as you are within 25ft of the berm you are firing at. Talk to our Range Safety Officers or our front desk staff for more information.
Q: Do you allow binary triggers and fully automatic weapons?
A: Yes. See the previous question for our rapid fire restrictions. Talk to our Range Safety Officers or our front desk staff for more information.
Q: Can I bring metal targets to the range?
A: Yes, however, we want the target to sit 3 feet above the ground and you need to be 20 feet away from target. Keep in mind that free standing targets are limited to out shotgun / 360 bay.
Q: Do you have an on-site gunsmith?
A: Yes we do, speak with the staff at the front desk to get in touch with them.
Q: Do you have a referral program?
A: For every member referred to us by you, you will receive additional months added to your membership. Come by and pick up as many referral cards as you need.
Q: What address should I use with my GPS?
A: 1206 Knesek Lane, Van Buren, AR 72956. We are off of Westville Road just south of Industrial Park Rd. near Kibler, AR.
Q: Do you have to be a member of the NRA to join?
A: NO. While we do recognize all the work the NRA has done for gun owners across the nation, we believe that it should be entirely your decision if you wish to support their organization.
Q: I own a business and I know a lot of my employees like to purchase and shoot firearms. Is there anything I can do to support them?
A: We do offer corporate packages, these will give your employees VIP level access to our range, giving them the flexibility they need to engage in their hobbies without affecting their work. Get in touch with our staff to get set up with one of these packages.
Q: I keeping forgetting to renew my membership. Can I just get it set up to automatically renew?
A: We are not set up at this time for auto-renewals. This upgrade will be coming in the near future.
Q: What method of payments do you accept?
A: We prefer cash and check, however, we do also accept all major credit cards. You will receive a 4% discount for using cash or check.
